The international symposium IDEAS-2026 is organized by Queen’s University, Canada, and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India. It revolves around the theme of “Sustainable Innovations and Technologies for Humanity” and focuses on addressing challenges affecting communities worldwide. IDEAS-2026 is an international conference designed to foster global partnerships and advance design-led, inclusive solutions for diverse environments. Hosted at Queen’s University (Kingston, ON), the symposium will bring together delegates, students, researchers, and community stakeholders from around the world. The conference’s theme directly addresses global disparities in healthcare access, infrastructure, economic development, and technological capacity, highlighting challenges faced by both resource-constrained communities and developed regions.

While modern engineering and design often emphasize high-tech advancements, these innovations can frequently remain out of reach for various populations, regardless of their location. IDEAS-2026 aims to bridge this gap by promoting sustainable practices and innovative technologies that are accessible and beneficial for all, fostering a collaborative approach to solving pressing global issues. IDEAS-2026 emphasizes that impactful innovation must be equitable, contextually relevant, and co-developed with those directly affected.

For in-person attendees, registration includes:

• Access to all conference presentation sessions
• Breakfast each conference day
• Lunch each conference day
• Coffee and refreshment breaks throughout the conference

Please note that accommodation is not included in the registration fee.

IDEAS2026 Banquet

The banquet is in the evening of September 20, 2026.  There is a $100 CAD cost to attend the banquet.
